I wish I could be there. Celebration of life is what Jake did. My last long visit with Jake was in Atlanta where he took me on an Odyssey across the city, finding comedy open mics. He loved life, people, and a good poop joke. The true nature of his impact is felt by his absence. Peace and love to all who knew him and loved him.

My first babysitting experience was with Jacob and his kid brother Sam one night around 1987. Jacob was a big boy with a mind of his own and Sam was a little cute one. I watched them brush their teeth before they went to bed and boy, what a relief when they both got into their bed. But, wait. Jacob came back out right away with a huge smile on his face and he insisted on playing some music on the record player for me. Maybe he just tried to entertain me, a student from Taiwan who actually didn't know anything about babysitting American kids. But It was such a sweet act from him, I will always remember his big smile. I will give Ed and Marty a big hug when I see them after thirty plus years. With love and condolences.

I knew Jake all through grade school and high school, I played little league with him and also knew him through church. He was truly a remarkable individual that will leave an incredible impact on me. After high school I didn´t see him very often but spent the evening of our reunion I reconnected and had a great night of laughter. That night is how I will always remember him. It was so sad hearing of his illness and passing. Prayers to his family and friends, he was a one of a kind individual.

For a man to be born on Earth Day, he certainly lived up to the celebration of life. I love you Jacob

I remember crossing paths with Jacob in the high school courtyard. He was always friendly but I remember feeling faintly intimidated by him because, in the anxiety of my youth, he seemed too popular and too cool to want to spend time with me. After I graduated and moved away our interactions were limited to social media, and even though I dislike social media I found myself regularly checking up on him. His posts were reliably side-splitting, and I admired how he seemed to ooze good times and good vibes. I crossed paths with him again, and for the last time, by chance in a bar during my high school reunion in 2017. I said hello to him, but I don't think he recognized or remembered me. I'll certainly remember him, and I can only imagine the delight he was to those of you who knew him better than I did.

Jake, there was none like you. Your gifts and talents, your love and compassion, were as unique as the way God created and formed you. Can't wait to get a Jacob hug on the other side. Love you, Bud!!!!
