Jacque Lou Poindexter BaileyOct. 29, 1935 — Dec. 18, 2009Jacque Lou Poindexter Bailey, 74 of Duncan, Oklahoma died on Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at her home in Duncan. A celebration for the life of Jacque Bailey will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Phil Ware officiating. Burial will be in Duncan City Cemetery, under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.She was born Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1935 in Webb City, Mo. to Jesse Allen and Bonnie Wyatt Poindexter. She was the only child until she was ten years old, when her beloved twin brother and sister, whom she had prayed for, were born. She grew up in Oklahoma City, a graduate of Classen High school and attended Oklahoma State Universtiy. She married Robert O. Bailey on July 21, 1955. Robert had just graduated from OSU and was headed to the U.S. Air Force as a jet pilot. They moved to various locations with the Air Force, and then back to Oklahoma City where Robert earned his law degree, and there they became parents of their beloved sons, Rob and Jimmy Bailey. They moved to Duncan, Robert's hometown, in 1966.Jacque was a homemaker, a helpmate and supporter of her husband and sons' activities. She worked a number of years as a beautician. Jacque is a member of the First United Methodist Church and through the years has been involved in several women's organizations, including the Hestian Club and Red Hat Ladies. Throughout her life, she has enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, cooking and being with family and friends. Jacque enjoyed life on their Duncan farm and working with her garden and flowers. Jacque and Robert spent many summers at their Red River, NM home where they square-danced and had numerous friends and acquaintances.She is survived by husband, Robert O. Bailey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Connie Bailey of Duncan, and James B. and Angelea Bailey of Comanche; beloved grandchildren, Angela Webb and husband Chris of Yukon, Jessie Bailey of Norman, Brayden Bailey and Bethany Bailey of Comanche; great grandson, Aidan Lee Webb; a sister, Judy Smith and her husband Tom of Woodstock, Ga.; brother, David Poindexter and his wife Penney of Oklahoma City; nephews, Darin Smith and wife Terri, Bryan Smith, Jason Smith and wife Cyndi, Wyatt Poindexter and wife Angela, and Joshua Poindexter. Other survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Barbara Armitstead, Jerry and Winifred Bailey and their children and families and many long-time friends who are considered family.Bearers will be Wyatt Poindexter, Joshua Poindexter, Darin Smith, Bryan Smith, Brad Bailey and Eric Bailey. Memorial contributions in Jacque's name may be made to The First United Methodist Church Music Ministry Fund; 2300 N. Country Club Rd.
