Jacqueline Cloidt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
Jaqueline Lewis Cloidt, 93, peacefully passed away on Friday May 23, 2025, at the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV surrounded by loved ones.

A graveside service will be Saturday August 2, 2025 at 11:00 am MDT at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, ND with Bill Buckley officiating. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Sidney, MT is assisting the family. Remembrances, condolences, and pictures may be shared with the family at www.fulkersons.com.

Jacqueline was born on April 9, 1932 in Fairview, Montana, to George and Macy (Hurley) Lewis. She grew up with her brother, Jerry, and was active in music, drama, and school leadership. A talented performer, she studied piano, played in the school band, sang in the choir, and frequently performed at community events. She graduated as salutatorian and attended the University of Montana in Billings on a scholarship.

In college, Jacqueline balanced academics, performances, and various jobs-from clerical work to singing with big bands. She was named the university's "College Sweetheart" and also competed in the Miss Montana pageant.

She went on to teach in Montana, Colorado, California, and Alaska. In 1954, she married Joseph Cloidt. They shared 67 devoted years together. Family was at the heart of their lives, and together they raised three daughters: Kimberly, Kendall, and Courtney.

In 1972, the family moved to Orinda, California, where Jacqueline pursued a career in real estate. She was active in civic and social organizations, sang with a barbershop quartet, and built a wide circle of cherished friends. She was known for her hospitality, grace, strong values, and independent spirit.

Jacqueline is survived by her daughters, grandchildren Wes Yeagley, Katherine Yeagley, and Jacqueline Menez; son-in-law Joe Yeagley; and her beloved nephew, Dr. Rodger Lewis, and his family. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jerry, and niece Valerie.

Remembering her laughter and her strength, she will be deeply missed. She made our lives richer, warmer, and more meaningful.
