Mrs. Jacqueline Anne Cogar

Jacqueline Anne "Jackie" Cogar, 60, of Annapolis died of complications from metastatic melanoma July 6 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Ms. Cogar was born July 29, 1947, to John and Lou Donald of Annapolis. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1965 and attended Fleet Business School. She worked as an office manager for National Marine Underwriters. At the time of her death, she was an administrative assistant with the Department of Aging for Queen Anne's County in Centreville. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis. She was an avid golfer at the Naval Academy Golf Club and the James River Country Club in Newport News, Va. Survivors include her husband of 23 years, William Cogar; one son, Joel Persels of Odenton; two daughters, Jamie Kay Persels of Grasonville and Jenifer Batchelder of Centre-ville; one sister, Janis Hosmer of Annapolis; and seven grandchildren. Family and friends may join in the celebration of her life at 11 a.m. July 19 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd. Interment is private; arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.
