Jacqueline M. Cohen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jackie Cohen, born on March 25th, 1944, who left us on February 20th, 2025. Jackie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gary Cohen, and their two children, Seth Cohen and Amy Tamul, along with their spouses, Tracy Cohen and Paul Tamul. Jackie took immense joy in being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Marla, PJ, Luke, Brooke, Leona, George, and Claire. She is also deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Jackie dedicated her career as the Residential Director of Lambs Farm, where she tirelessly worked to meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Her compassion and commitment to service extended into her personal life, where she volunteered for various causes, including English as a Second Language, refugee support, and U.S. citizenship training.

A passionate individual, Jackie enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing bridge, and golfing. She was an avid reader and embraced life with enthusiasm, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and a love for learning.

A memorial service celebrating Jackie's life will be held on Friday, February 28th at 12:30pm at Chicago Jewish Funerals,8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road) www.chicagojewishfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org) P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741 in her honor. Jackie Cohen's spirit of generosity and love will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered. Jackie was my mentor and friend for many years when I was able to work for her at Lambs Farm. She was always an inspiration to me and I credit her for much of my success all these years later. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I will forever be grateful that I had the opportunity to know and learn from her.
