POISSON, Jacqueline Jacqueline (Chaine) Poisson, of Enfield, entered into her eternal rest on Sunday (August 19, 2007), at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Eugene (Houde) Chaine. Jacqueline was the first female Correction Officer in the State of Connecticut, working at the maximum security. She held that position until her retirement in 1988. A loving mother, grandmother and a new great grandmother, she is survived by her children, Joyce Poisson of Hollywood, Fl.; Jon Poisson, Sr. and his wife Marilyn, of Bernardston, MA; Jeannette Maloney and her significant other, Mark Packard, both of Enfield; and Jeffrey Poisson of Chester; her sister, Solange LaPlante of Newington; her brother, Jean Marc Chaine of Montreal; her four grandchildren, Jon Poisson, Jr., Christopher Poisson, Melanie Poisson and Brian Leduc, her great granddaughter, Christine Poisson, as well as 80 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, James Poisson in 1988 and by her 16 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield on Tuesday evening August 21, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Jacqueline's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home prior to the services from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State St., Suite 1, Hamden, CT. 06517-2232.
