She is survived by her daughter, Danielle (Darren), brothers, Bob (Gisel), Woodrow, Van (Sheryl), John (Barb), Monte (Lynne), Barrie (Angie), Rocke (Anne), Errol (Wendi), Michael (Teresa) and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Born near Rockglen, Jacquie grew up in a happy home with her parents, Lloyd and Yvonne, and nine brothers. As a child she developed rheumatic fever and began a life long struggle with her health. Despite this struggle (or perhaps because of it) she always retained a positive outlook.
She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts and taught in Regina. In 1971 she married Donald Hicks, and they moved to Ottawa.
Doctors told her that she would not live past the age of 18; she certainly would not survive a pregnancy. But anyone who knew Jacquie knew how much she loved children, so she had to try. Her daughter, Danielle, born in Ottawa, was her "greatest gift".
Jacquie, with Danielle, moved back to Regina in 1981. She was married to Garrett Wilson from 1989 to 2007. She dedicated time to the community and to the arts in particular. She served on the boards of the Mackenzie Art Gallery, the Globe Theatre, and the Canadian Federation of University Women and well as the senates of both the Universities of Regina and Saskatchewan.
From 1984 to 2015 she worked as a real estate agent. In the end it was hard for her to retire because she cherished the strong relationships she had built over 30 years with clients and colleagues.
Jacquie enjoyed playing bridge, travelling, cooking and reading. No time was more precious to her though than that spent with her beloved grandchildren, Bennett and Emma. Her infectious smile and bright eyes were the most alive when with them.
Funeral services will be held at St. Martin's Catholic Church on Saturday, February 6 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Rockglen Cemetery Committee.

As first time buyers far away from home, Geneviève and I had a wonderful experience with Jacquie. She knew exactly what we wanted and got us the perfect nest in Regina. I knew Jackie Stewart going back to 1963 when she took history M103 at St Thomas More College at the U of S, Saskatoon, I would only see her rarely in the past 50 years. She kept up the joie de vivre she exhibited in 1963 every time I saw over the next 50 years. She will be missed by her family and friends. I have not known Daniele. I am sure Jackie's legacy to her will sustain her in her loss.
