Jacquelyn Joan Smith McCoy

Jacquelyn Joan Smith McCOY Jackie was born November 27, 1931 and passed away August 25, 2008 in Bellevue. A native Seattleite she grew up on Beacon Hill, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1949. She received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1953, where she was a proud member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. There she made many life long friends whom she remained close her entire life, especially Joan Coble Mealer. While raising her family on Clyde Hill Jackie always had an interest in real estate, so many Sunday afternoon family outings were spent looking at open houses. During her life she and her first husband, William J. McCoy built several houses. She was a licensed realtor and sold real estate briefly before becoming employed by King County, where she spent many years working in the Assessor's office as a residential real property appraiser. She was a member of American Society of Appraisers. Surviving Jackie is her daughter, Tanis Winfield (John L.), son, Todd C. McCoy and granddaughter Madeline McCoy as well as her good friend and caregiver, Tracy Dawkins. A memorial service for Jackie will be held Wednesday September 3, 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Court Retirement Community, 900 124th Ave NE Bellevue, WA 98005. In lieu of flowers Jackie requested memorials to Somerset Women for Bellevue Medic One c/o Bellevue Fire Dept. PO Box 90012, Bellevue, WA 98009 or your favorite charity.
