Jacquelyn Schull Obituary
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Lisa Porteus and her husband Sean, Christopher Simoni and his wife Lisa; her granddaughters, Charlotte and Sydney Porteus, and a soon-to-be-born granddaughter, expected in August. Also mourning her loss are her sisters Sandra (Robert) Lunn and Virginia (Matt) Hunting.
Born on June 27, 1956, to the late Fred and Lois Griswold, Jacquelyn was a lifelong resident of Clinton. She was known for her warm personality, her love of conversation, and her ability to light up a room with her presence. She loved the simple things in life; a good cup of coffee, her favorite talk shows, and anything purple that shimmered and shined. Jacquelyn spent her career as a dedicated hairdresser, where she brought joy and beauty into the lives of her many clients. Whether cut, color, perm or styling for a special occasion she would always try and throw in a dash of sparkle.
Jacquelyn treasured the time spent with her family, particularly in her role as Mimi to her granddaughters. She will be remembered for her kindness, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering love for her family.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Jacquelyn will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 4pm at the Clinton Fire Department located at 35 East Main Street, Clinton, CT. A reception gathering will follow a brief service. To commemorate Jacquelyn's life please consider wearing the color purple.
In memory of Jacquelyn, contributions can be made to the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department at 35 East Main Street, Clinton, CT 06413. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the support and condolences received during this difficult time. Jacquelyn's grace and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jackie was our neighbor, and lived in several houses in our neighborhood, always greeting us with a beautiful smile and friendship. Our daughter, Jackie, often provided her babysitting services. On one occasion, not during a babysitting event, both Jackie's were having a phone conversation and Jackie realized something was wrong. She dropped the phone and ran to our house, through the back door, past a very protective dog (who obviously hadn't realized what just happened), past Dwight and down to Jackie's room, who was having a seizure. Her quick actions brought help sooner than would have ever occurred since there was no indication of distress from our Jackie. We were always so thankful to Jackie for her unselfish, caring response!

If you knew Jackie, you loved her.
My dearest friend and I shared a heart and soul friendship for 52 years. Too many favorite memories to pick one, they are all favorites.
At 15, we were both at a school dance and both had a crush on the same boy. We decided to follow him around together and stalk him. We thought he went outside. So outside we went, but he wasn´t outside and we were not allowed back in the dance. We laughed at ourselves and didn´t care cause we just made a best friend forever. I stayed at her house that night and all we did was talk, and laugh, we got in trouble from her sister who she shared a room with. So we took our quilts and pillows and went into her closet, which had a window. It was snowing out and we opened the window and talked and laughed and sang songs all night long.
Through so many laughs and tears , we never stopped calling or texting each other or ran out of things to share. Our silly adventures, crazy fun times, and rememberable get togethers always created a story that we´d look back on and laugh again with. WE always said we should and could write a book. In our minds, our stories were amazing. We stayed 15 years old at heart for our time together, never stopped singing or laughing. I was blessed to have her in my life. My heart is broken and I will miss her sparkle forever.
I love you my Moon River, rest in the sweetest peace, we´ll meet again in heaven, you are my special angel forever.

Lisa, Chris & Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Although we didn´t know your mother, when we lost our 21 year old daughter, Julie, she painted a beautiful picture for us which included my daughter´s favorite, sunflowers, and the lighthouse where she, along with other children, are memorialized. We all have treasured that painting and will continue to do so. We were all struck by the compassion and thoughtfulness of Jackie in doing this kind gesture for us at a most dark time of our lives. I'm so very sorry to hear of your passing. I know we hadn't seen each other in many years, but there was a time we spent many days together. I still have the picture of Adam that was taken after you gave him a "dutch boy" haircut. He looked so cute. We had many laughs and I remember those days with fondness. See you at your aunt's service it was like the years all melted away. Sandy, Ginny, Lisa, Chris and the rest of the family my deepest condolences on this tremendous loss.

As the years passed and our lives got busy, we didnt see each other that often, but when we did, it was like no time had passed at all. Keeping you all in our prayers during this time.

I was always grateful to be the bonus mother and grandmother to Jackie´s children and granddaughters. We jokingly called each other bff over the years and got along famously, as we both loved Lisa, Chris, Charlotte and Sydney. My favorite memory was the day I began chemotherapy which was her wedding day to Jim Schull. I was so touched that she called me that day. Warm, loving & kind; I was honored to call her a friend, lost to heaven far too early.

I remember the day the girls Dad Fred, told them that I was the only one that had permission to touch our use the stereo. The girls were all unhappy with the decision! Fred was a great father to all of his daughters, and each and every one was a model child to his memory! Jacquelyn was not only a friend, but a neighbor, and always full of bubbly energy and life!
To Sandra and Ginny, I suffer your loss with you both. I love all of the memories I have of being welcomed into your home, and sharing a part of your lives.

My dear sweet cousin Jackie, I hold such memories of growing up with you and your sisters. You and I were just 9 mos apart,we shared so many amazing fun "cousin", times together. It´s so hard to even imagine you no longer on this earth.You will be missed immensely.
