Jacques was a good friend of mine back in Junior High School 217. We shared the same classes from the 7th grade through the 9th. Even back then his artistic talent and devotion to his craft stood out from the crowd. He was a great human being and my condolences go out to his family.

Jacques was my “life guru.” Without him, I have to say that I have questions that will never be answered. His kindness, love, and compassion always brought me to a peaceful mindset. His wise words of wisdom, as he had always been an old soul, were among the best offers of advice I’d ever received from anyone. We became fast friends when we met online in 1999. That friendship grew into a real connection of spirits. He is missed, greatly. I will never forget him and how important he has been to me. Rest peacefully, dear friend. You deserve the break from this mad, mad world. I love you, always.

Jacques became one of my closest friends over the years. He was not only a friend but a mentor to me. He inspired me to produce and challenge myself everyday. I already miss our long chats about life, art and everything in between. I loved him dearly and my heart will always have a hole now that he is gone.

Jacques was a real blessing in our lives. He reconnected with me early this year and started coming to church with my wife and I. We enjoyed having him over and seeing his vibrant zest for life, excitement over new things and gratitude for even the smallest of things. We thank the Lord for every minute we had with brother Jacques and pray he´s at peace with the Father now. God bless all who morn this extreme loss, we morn with you. Here is one of the only pics I have of the camera shy artist.

I thought of you today
But nothing new.
I thought about yesterday, and the day before that too.
I think of you in silence.
I often speak your name.
All I have are the memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake,
from which I will never part.
God has you in his arms
I have you in our hearts. Rip
I will miss you dearly my dear cousin. Your cousin Ginou Elie

Jacques would always say I am so talented I could do anything I want to do. That felt good. And he liked to call me Paducah(after my hometown)(insert silly country accent he always tried to emulate) and was proud of me for getting out of my small town. We had many get talks and he always inspired me with the best artists. Over the past couple years he really helped change the way I think and am forever grateful for that.
