Jacques Romeo Hubert

Jacques Romeo Hubert August 25, 1938 - October 17, 2013 The world is a less vibrant place without Jacques Hubert who slipped away after a year long illness. For all who knew and loved him, Jacques was a renaissance man and an affectionate friend. A consummate raconteur, his family and friends came to vividly know the details of his life from a childhood in rural Quebec, to the RCAF in Comox and France, CP Air, many happy years in the film business, and ultimately retiring from his adventures in log salvaging. Playful by nature, and happiest on the water, he and Lesley took delight in their summer travels up and down the coast on their Vancouver 27, Iris 1. Jacques will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lesley Beale, his children Alex, Erin, and Pierre, his siblings Renelle, Antoine, and Georges, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the compassionate staff at VGH Palliative Care who helped to ensure that his final journey was peaceful. And to the superb team at the BC Cancer Agency for helping us to be with him for as long as possible. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday November 30 at 1 PM in the Floral Hall at Van Dusen Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to either of the institutions above.
