Jake Ellis Obituary
But Jake sadly lost his battle. He died in the early hours of Monday morning at Furness General Hospital’s children’s ward. Jake’s family said this morning: “He was a very brave little boy, and he was an inspiration to many people.
“He made us very proud and we loved him very much.”
Jake was voted Barrow’s “local hero” in a competition backed by the Evening Mail and Abbey FM and was given the honour of switching on the town’s Christmas lights in November 2006.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

I had so much fun with you at my sister's wedding in Scotland. We danced the night away and I taught you how to "Drop It Like It's HOT" and my personal favorite, "Brush Your Shoulders Off". We made sure your little yellow collar was popped and I gave you my long silver chain to rock. You always brought a smile to my face, and anyone else who simply crossed your path. I'm happy every time I think of you and that's why every time I see a red rock, I'm going to pick it up and throw it back in the water, knowing I'll see it again when it washes ashore. "See ya later red rock." ;-)

To jake,
I met you once whilst attending a day placement on the childrens ward. I only spoke to you for a few minutes but you made a big impact on me. You were so brave and after the nurses had given you a nasty needle i went to go and find you a sticker. When i came back you told me you did not want it as it was blue and you only liked red ones! I was amazed by your bubbly and cheeky personality.You told me about your plans for your 5th brithday party and how their were no girls invited! I went home that day and thought how lucky i was and what an inspiration you were, i thought of you all night. I also thought about your mummy and daddy and your little brother and i prayed for you all. I always wondered whether you got to go to your birthday party and hoped that you had. When i heard the sad news that you had gone to heaven i cried lots of tears and thought about you and your family and said a prayer to god asking him to look after you and give you i kiss from me i asked god to tell you how much you inspired me the day i met you.
