Jake "Papa Jake" Larson

I learned about you last Memorial Day when I was needing a story to cover for a broadcasting class I was taking in my local college.
I did my segment on Papa Jake and was delighted at his stories and that he had lived in Martinez. Such an honor to have been influenced by him. And so glad I could spread his story to other. He was truly a legend . And honorable men like him are becoming extinct . God bless you and rest in peace your story lives on.

Papa Jake instilled wisdom, knowledge and understanding into his stories. He attracted so much interest because he never tried to make others happy. He was just himself. I met Papa Jake on a visit to Normandy on June 2, 2025, about six weeks before he passed away. I will never forget him.

I got the TikTok app because of him! He was so interesting and charismatic, I was fascinated by him and his stories. He lives on through his life and legacy. A life so very well lived. RIP Jake, you are absolutely inspirational to so many.

Papa Jake was an amazing man. I found him on TikTok and adored his kindness, and his charm, and appreciated his service not only to our country while in the service, but right up till he left us. On TikTok he taught kids and adults alike how to be a good person and taught us about our country and the military. Thank you Papa you are the Best. We all love you and will greatly miss you and your beautiful smile.
