I am privileged and honored to have known Jacob, as well as his sisters, over many years since he was a toddler, due to my friendship with his mother. Life choices, work, and sometimes Fate, got in the way of continuity, and there were gaps in seeing him, as he grew up, but I am left with many positive memories, from helping him dress as a toddler, playing Lincoln Logs, Trains, eating cereal out of a coffee cup, and teaching him how to rain on ants, these and many more from when he was older, will stay with me forever. There are so many fond memories it would be hard to pick just one, but after giving it some thought, there is one, among all the rest, that might just be the best. At a young age most likely 4 years old or less, Jacob was at a one his Mothers neighbors Halloween Party, a mixture of families, friends and loved ones were all gathered about, having fun, bobbing for apples, and dancing, both the Parents, Adults, and Children, all enjoying the wholesome neighborly fun, when Jacob showed everyone a inkling into what a cool Man he would grow to become, when, without any prompting, Jacob entered the dance area, moving into the middle of the floor and started to do a great solo dance routine. He was not seeking attention, he was just enjoying the moment, and vibing on all the positivity, not only was he dancing to the rythm quite well, but he also had a baby carrot in his hand, and when he began to mimic the moves of some of the Adults in the room, along with "smoking" his baby carrot, and throwing his head back like he was blowing smoke, everyone went wild with laughter, as it was the highlight of that evening. That was Jacob, the nicest guy in the room, making sure everyone was having a good time. Later, after many years had passed, I was very fortunate to meet. and briefly reconnect with Jacob, these past couple of years, seeing him a few times, when he was supporting his sister Mary Spenser's non profit Animal Shelter. We would greet each other, talk a while, then he would move on thru the crowd, or sit at a table, smiling, and greeting people, who you knew were just glad to see him. I, having a slightly vested interest in him, (after all in my heart, he is somewhere between a son, and a nephew I never had), I would observe him from a distance on the first few of these occasions, and was extremely happy and proud of the Man he had grown to be, Independent, Kind, Smart, Gentle, and Friendly, a hard worker, good for his friends, loving to his family, and kind with strangers. There is little more a Man can wish to achive in this life, and Jacob had acheived them all. It was hard to hear of his passing so unexpectadly, and harder still to imagine a world with his light now dimmed. The world is a little less nice, and not as bright, now that he has moved on, but I like to think that Jacob would not want any of his family, loved ones, or friends to mourn to long, I belive he might want us to remember him in the best way possible, smiling, walking his dog to the beach, and wanting us to move forward, enjoying every day, and doing it a little for him. As T.S Elliot once wrote "In my end, is my begining". So Aloha Jacob, be sure to catch a big wave for that long ride into the Sun, we will catch you later.

We met at The Blind Burro in 2019/2020 when we both worked there. Jake was nothing but a wonderful ray of sunshine. He always had this ability to make me smile or laugh whenever I felt down. Gutted to learn of his passing. I will keep your sunshine in my heart, friend.

We were childhood friends and after not seeing him for 20 years or so we ran into each other in San Diego last year multiple times as he was walking Nala. It was so good to see him, he was looking amazing. So sad to hear of his passing and sending love.
