James A. "Jim" Andersen, 89, Green Bay, died Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was born on August 30, 1927 in Racine, WI to Arnold and Dagmar Andersen.

Jim graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine. He served in the United States Army in Germany after WWII. Jim then continued his education and received his Bachelor's of Science and Master's Degrees from Stout Institute. On June 6, 1953, Jim married Carol Kahnert in St. Paul, MN.

He taught high school in Drummond, WI; Port Washington, WI; and in the Green Bay School System for over 30 years. Jim was a true craftsman, working with wood - making many treasures, pieces of furniture, and toys that his family and friends enjoy and love. Jim and his brother, Bill built the family cottage at Surprise Lake, which was his pride and joy. He was an avid outdoorsman; hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. Jim enjoyed participating in many diverse organizations. He was a member of the Brown County Sportsman Club, Trapshooting League, the Fraternal Order of Masons for 50 years, Scottish Rite, and the Beja Shrine.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the "Grumpy Old Men".

Jim is survived by his wife, Carol; his children and their spouses: Nancy and Mark Hadlich, Grand Forks, ND; Jack Andersen, Green Bay; Linda and Gregg Johnson, Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren, Jack (Abbey), Andrew (Jaclyn), Mark (Megan), Nicholas, Luke, Lindsay (Lambert), Ben (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Rosemary, Jaxon, Ashlyn, Chalene, Brooklyn; niece and nephew, Tim (Mary) Andersen and Kristin (Greg) Andersen-Garwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill (Barbara) Andersen.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 S. Ridge Rd., from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Chapel Mausoleum. Carol & Family,
We are so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. We have so many pleasant memories of Jim and have several of his beautiful woodworking pieces of art - he had so many gifts and talents.
