It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Craig Anderson on December 8, 2023. Craig was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor who lived an exceptional life and who brought joy to all of those blessed enough to know him.
Craig was born to George and Relia Olsen Anderson on July 18, 1948 in Logan, Utah. He grew up in Nibley, Utah and spent much of his youth working with his family on their farm and building lasting memories with his nephews and cousins.
He graduated from Sky View High School in 1965 and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University. After graduating from college, Craig entered the military and was stationed at Fort Leonardwood in Missouri where he worked as a legal clerk.
In July 1971, Craig met his future wife, Helen Faye Stanley. They were later married in Casper, Wyoming. Craig worked for Kmart while they lived in Casper, WY and Roy, Utah before returning to Cache Valley. He then worked for ATK where he was involved in sales and documentation for the space shuttle rockets. They had four children.
Though a quiet man, Craig had a wonderful sense of humor that would emerge when it was least expected. He enjoyed the annual deer hunt with his nephews and cousins and had a successful moose hunt in 1981. His favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park and his family has wonderful memories of vacations there.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Harold and Paul, sisters Betty Burr and Patricia Purser, his daughter Brenda, and his granddaughter Cora Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Faye, daughters Angie (Mark) Bishop, Melissa (Nate) Hanberg, son Chris (Megan) Anderson, his sister Myrna Knowles, his brother- in-law Vern Purser, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Though he is dearly missed by his family and friends, the beautiful memories he gave to us can never be forgotten.
A service will be held to honor Craig on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 1:00 pm. A viewing will take place the same day from 11:30 – 12:30 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 E Center St. in Logan. Internment will be in Millville Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Millville Cemetery. www.allenmortuaries.com
