I met Jim (aka Baker or Mr. Baker) at sweetwater's in Battle Creek, he was friend's with a couple of other friend's of mine. What I was led to understand is that Jim as I knew him was one of the small group from Zeller's. Jim would come up on Saturday's to sweetwater's for coffee, donut and a bit of razing by those who knew him and those who he got to know in time. He and Ron would often be teased about bein long lost brother's, separated at birth. Jim always took things as power for the course and could dish out some sarcasm of his own at times. When I heard of his passing, it was a blow as often I'd enquire about hom and how he was doin. He will be truly missed by all of those of us who knew him. Ron would bring hom in or Jim's son would drop him off, then Ron might take him home or Jim's son or wife would come retrieve him. I took him home a small handful of times early on. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim's wife, when they were having a meal at Lux Cafe on SW Capital. Another time I got to say hello when Jim was hurrying in to get St. Patrick's Day supper at Lux's. He stated joyfully hope your not here for Corn Beef and Cabbage meal, because we just got the last 2 hahaha. I gently reminded him that I'm vegetarian and that they should both enjoy. I'll miss seeing Jim and razing him and asking about how his wife Elaine was doin. From our few interactions with one another, Elaine was always very nice. Jim would talk about his family, his grandchildren and how proud he was of them all. I'm almost certain he and a friend David Wygant who passed on September 21st, are up there in Heaven giving eachother heck as only friend's can do to one another. Jim will be watching over you all, and may God's love bring y'all comfort in this time and moment's to come. When you see a Red Cardinal at your window, this is said to be a loved one looking over you.

I am so sorry for your sudden loss. I have such fond memories of Dad growing up with Sandra. When I got the call, I was out for ice cream with family and immediately remembered the time I went out to dinner with you to the Turkey Farm. Where we got ice cream after dinner and Dad was driving us crazy with taking our pictures. I love those pictures and love the memories. Though I can't be there in person, I'm sending my love and prayers for you all.
