Jim was a really fun guy to be around, always enthusiastic & full of life. I had the privilege of sharing many Skyline shooting matches & club events with him. He also taught a great many hunter education students about muzzleloading. He will be missed indeed. Mike McKaig

Jim was full of life and always there to put me back on track when I needed it most. My favorite memory was when the two of us drove to Texas for business and all he could think about was a Mexican restaurant he and his brother had eaten at years before. We finally found it in a town I believe was called Santa Maria and his eyes lit up. Jim, I won't say goodbye because I know in my heart we will meet again.

I knew Jim as a young boy, an adolescent and a young military man. His family, Dad, Mom and his brother Gene, were very well respected neighbors and friends. I will always remember Jim as a wonderful friend and a shoulder to lean on in our youth. God bless his family and = May Jim rest in peace.

Jim was quite a craftsman. I was amazed at how meticulous he was when creating a new rifle. It left a lifetime impression on me. He had an amazing knowledge of so many things and was happy to share it if you asked. The world has lost great soul. He will be remembered.

Uncle Jim, "Jasper" was a source of kindness, humor and consistency as the patriarch of our family for many years. I only had one Uncle and he was the best. He and his brother, my Dad have laid a trail of wonderful memories in my life from which to reflect and take comfort from. Anytime spent with the Ball boys was always an adventure. Our thoughts, our love are with Suzie, Cindy, John, Liz and their children. God's speed James J. you were a good man.

I spent some happy times with Jim shooting muzzle loaders at various events and practice in the eighties.
He will certainly be missed.
