Wow it has been a whole year gone by. Time seems to go by so quickly these days. And you can feel a sort of emptiness in these days with Jim gone. Because Jim brought it. Jim made life more bearable when he was around.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Jim had a wonderful sense of humor. With his wit and laugh, he readily burst pretentiousness. We met in college - he was pre-med at the time. His ease with people made his career as a SF police officer a great choice. Im happy we kept in touch; he lasted visited when I was still in DC. Sad to learn of his passing. Rest In Peace.

Got to know James from a friend & co worker of his. Over the years we became closer due to our personal & professional work relationships. Always personable very easy going & a good listener. Gone too soon. I wished we could had enjoyed retirement together more so.

I met Jim about 15 years ago at St. Francis Lutheran Church where he was known for telling jokes during coffee hour on Sunday morning. We hit it off and he became a good friend and travel companion sharing many meals and three cruises. I will miss you my friend; rest in peace.

Jim and I met on a trip to Italy. We became friends right away when we found out we both had gone to the Bronx High School of Science and had both studied Russian. We had a great trip to Alaska together and I visited him in San Francisco a few times, the last time in January, 2019. He emailed me a joke 2 days before he died, then sent another email the next day, saying he wasnt doing so well. Breathe easy in Heaven, my friend!!

Jimmy and I were pretty close through high school and somewhat during college. He was a great guy and always there if you needed him. We corresponded during the last few months. It was good catching up on what had happened in our lives since the last time we last met in 1976. I am glad he had a happy life and had no regrets.

Although its been over forty five years since I last saw Jimmy, it seems like such a short time ago we were all sitting around my dining room table playing whist or Miles Bornes with my family and a couple of friends. Jimmy was a quick wit and would always have us laughing at something funny he would have said. He may have moved from the Bronx but he left a lasting impression on all the friends he left behind. Judging from the beautiful pictures and heartfelt condolences I can see he found real happiness in San Francisco. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. My deepest sympathy for your loss.

I offer my sincere condolences to James Barron's family and friends, Jim was co-worker family. I had spent a tremendous amount of time laughing and talking with Jim. Smart, serious, streets of new york tough, we laughed together, complained to one another about lack of good working equipment, though never having played poker with Jim, he had an experienced poker face when leading into a joke, until unleashing a wry smile his levity successfully making all days remembered as good days. RIP James Barron, Grace to you and peace from the one who is and the one who was and the one who is to come.

Jim and I went to the police academy in 1983. We became partners at the old Potrero Station and then at the old and new Mission station. Jim and I became good friends over the years. I was glad to see him one more time before the covid19 virus came to California. I did speak to Jim one last time before his death.

Jim and I were in the same Academy Class. We just clicked. Seems like it was just yesterday. He had that wonderful New York accent and he just always made me smile. The last time I saw him we went to an all you can eat Chinese/Japanese restaurant and it was such a treat being with him again after so many years. Rest in peace my friend.

I have known Jim for 3 years and developed a close friendship with him. Generous, whip smart, a great conversationalist , a world traveler, along with the best sense of humor. He was always a joy to be with . Truly a special person that was loved very much. The kind of person that does not come along the path frequently. Jim will be missed by many. He is in peace, without suffering and pain.
