Mary,

What a shock to think Jim is no longer with us. I love to remember those great times the three of us had in D.C. I'm so glad we got to see you two and your lovely home and spend some time together.

You are a lovely woman and our prayers are with you.

I am stricken with sadness at the news of Jim's death. He was a beloved member of our Kenya Peace Corps group. I was so fortunate to spend a month on safari with him and Mary in 1969 and we have relived that incredible journey on recent visits. Jim was an entertaining raconteur, a warm-hearted generous man who spent his life connecting with youth and helping them build better futures. In fact, he was always connecting with everyone around him and helping us all become better people. I am deeply thankful that I got to visit him and Mary in New Mexico recently and see the mountain cabin that they loved so much. We will miss him.

Dear Mary, Ron and I send our deepest sympathy to you. From the first time we met Jim in Santa Fe we knew he was special. As we were with you both at later events that feeling was only confirmed. Our thoughts are with you. Love, Ron and Barbara Riccardo
