James W. Blazek

James "Jim" William Blazek, 79, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Delmont, to the late Frank and Lovernia (Shoop) Blazek. Jim was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, which he volunteered his time to. He also volunteered with the Delmont Salvation Army. Jim was also a member of the Retirement Gas Co. Golf League at Cloverleaf. He retired from Fatur's Market, where he worked as the produce manager. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Blazek, in May 2022; and a brother, Frank Blazek in 2018. Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra Lee (Watt) Blazek; his sons, Jim Blazek Jr., of Winchester, Va., and Gary Blazek, of Erie; and his grandchildren, whom he adored dearly, Jack, Grant and Lauren Blazek. In addition, he will be missed by his sister, Bonnie (Gene) Peters, of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Barb Blazek, of Delmont; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. Additional viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 18, 2023, followed by a service for Jim in the funeral home, with Pastor Kara Propst officiating.
