James Gilbert "Jim" Bohn

Clemmons - James Gilbert "Jimmy" Bohn, aged 69, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on August 11, 2024, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Cumberland, MD, Jim was a person whose presence was a comfort to all. Known for his kind spirit and relaxed nature, he never met a stranger and was beloved by many.

Jim was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps, serving from 1973 to 1979, a period during which he dedicated himself to the values of courage and commitment. After his military service, he channeled his discipline and work ethic into his professional life as a painter. Owning and operating James Bohn Painting, he became a master of his craft, not only painting homes but also painting the lives of his community members with strokes of kindness and reliability.

A 1973 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School, Jim's early life was marked by an eagerness to engage with the world around him, a trait that carried throughout his life. His passion for antique cars and motorcycles often brought him together with friends and family, sharing in the joys of restoration and the open road.

Jim was a devoted father and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his three grandsons, Brennan, Colin, and Jack. His companionship extended to his beloved dogs, who were a constant source of joy and comfort throughout his life.

Jim leaves behind his daughter, Jamie Bartlett, and son-in-law, Christopher Bartlett; his grandsons; and his brothers, David Bohn and Jonathan Bohn, along with their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert P. Bohn and Ruth Glass-Bohn.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Hub City Vineyard Church in Hagerstown, MD. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 1pm, with the service commencing at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 in Hagerstown, MD, in remembrance of Jim's commitment to community and country.
