My most heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to all of Dr. Brod's family. I was hit by a car when I was 5 years old, and Dr. Brod was my physician. Without him, I would never have walked again. Although I don't truly remember a lot about the experience at such a young age, I DO remember him from that time. What's more, in my life since then, and the many times I and/or my family was at his practice, HE remembered me! Always with a smile, a hug, and kind words. I've had a special place in my heart for him all these years, and my heart breaks at his loss. He has definitely left his legacy behind, many, many people were (and still are) touched by the man/Doctor he was. God Bless you Dr. Brod, for everything you have done for the people and communities you lived in, you have certainly earned your wings! May our Heavenly Father watch over, guide, protect and heal the hearts and souls of all those you held dear, and may they find comfort in Your love and the love of family and friends during this most difficult time.

In 1971, at 11 years old, my mother and I were in a car accidnt after being hit by a drunk driver. Dr. Brod was the doctor that came to see me daily for the few months I was at the old Oneida City Hospital. I was never supposed to walk normal again; however, after several months of Dr. Brod's care,I was able to walk. He certainly touched a lot of lives during his nearly 90 years. What an imprint he made for so many of us.

Doc Brod found that I had Osteomyalitis in my left leg below my knee cap. Thank you again, Dr. Brod for saving my life.

My name is Deborah Jones. My maiden name was Deborah Osborne. I was 5 years old and this was the first time that I meant Dr. Brod. I was rushed to the OR. at the old Oneida City Hospital on Broad Street. The year was 1967. My dad rushed me to the hospital in the middle of the night in his underwear because I had a 106 temp, he was so scared that he didn't hardly have any clothes on. When we got to the Hospital Doc Brod checked me over and realized that I had Osteomyalitis. He told my father if you waited any longer to bring her in I don't think I could have saved her life. I did see him at my doc appts. with him and eventually I didn't have to see him anymore. I will always be forever thankful for him and for being there that night to save my life. I am 53 years old and have grandchildren now.

Hard to find the right words to pay tribute to a Dr. who saved my childhood and my left foot. In 1966 on Halloween I went to school and my left foot hurt. By the afternoon it was too swollen to keep my shoe on and it was fire red. My Mom took me to Oneida City Hospital where Dr. Brod diagnosed my problem as being osteomyelitis in my foot. Dr. performed 3 surgeries and I spent the next 6 weeks in the hospital. Dr. Brod treated me as if I was his own son. My family owes a lot to Dr. Brod. It was so nice to see him at our football reunion last September and I have to say it was the highlight of my evening. Well Dr. now you can hang out with my Mom and Dad in heaven now because that's the only place you can go! RIP!

It is a time to celebrate Jim's life. He has always been a giving man, very helpful to those who needed help. He has done some amazing things in his life, some of which I was not aware of. I am so proud of Jim and his wife Maryann, to be able to say they are my (our) friends. It is very obvious to those who do know them, that they are very family orientated. They have wonderful kids, and grandkids who are kind, polite and not afraid to speak to "older adults"... so sad that he is gone, but I'm sure that there are other plans for him on the other side. We will miss him very much. Our sincere condolences to the family, may you all find peace in your hearts and know that Jim will be where he is suppose to be.

When I was a little girl and sprained my ankle, Dr Brod gave me a piggy back ride through the old Oneida Hospital on Broad St. because I couldn't walk. A very sweet man. I'll always remember that. My condolences to Mary Ellen and the rest of the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Brod's passing. He fixed me up good in 1977 when I broke my foot. My Dad told me of Doc's passion to teach his children different things. I always thought that was awesome. I never realized all his life accomplishments until I read this. RIP Doc, you were a good man.

I would see Dr Brod every year at the meat shop in Verona during Deer Season. I was always pleased with the surgical care Dr Brod would take when field dressing his deer. I was saddened to not see him this season as I always enjoyed sharing fellowship and political conversations with him during our annual visits. God speed Dr Brod and my condolences to the family.
