James Buckner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 22 to Dec. 24, 2022.
James Buckner was born on March 19, 1943 in Conroe, Texas and entered into eternal peace with the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2022. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 54 years, Mary Bilnoski Buckner. Also surviving are daughter Pam, son Greg and wife Angie along with grandsons Stash and Brooks, and sister-in-law Dot Buckner and her family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Verna, and his brother Fred.

Following high school Jim proudly served our country in the US Army, with a tour in Vietnam. Upon return he was a sales manager with a local beer distributor where he acquired his appreciation for a good cold brew. With the death of his father in 1981, Jim and Fred took to the fields to continue the third generation of Buckner Flowers. It was a family effort for 20 years, continuing to bring the community beautiful flowers, long-term friendships, and joy. With the decision to leave the physical labor at the farm, Jim began working at Montgomery Country Precinct 1 where he devoted nearly 15 years. Following retirement his world revolved around spoiling Stash and Brooks with junk food, building toys from scrap material, rides on the tractor, trips to the train tracks, hitting golf balls, and providing unforgettable companionship and life lessons.

The family will honor Jim's life on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Visitation from 10:00 am until noon, with a service immediately following.
