Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of James D. Bullard US Army Staff Sergeant.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

February 9, 2010

My name is SPC John Jordan. I was friends with SSG James Bullard for years. I enlisted in the National Guard in 1998 when I was only 18. I was assigned to D co. 263 armor in Marion, SC. I was a medic. I will never forget James. He out of everyone was one of the nicest guys I met. He taught me a lot about the Guard and its ways of life. He helped me with everything from teaching me the basics before I even left for basic. I will not forget his long drawn country accent and is gentlemen ways. I at the time considered him my best friend when it came to drill. I was reassigned to HHC 263rd armor since I was a medic and all the medics were at that time as well. We met back up when we were activated in 2002 for Noble Eagle at Ft. Gordon, GA. We picked up like we never separated. In 2004 in got out of service. I remember him saying that he was staying until the job was done. He was a very dedicated soldier and I was proud of him. It was him that made my career a success while I was in. I lost all contact with my comrades of the 263rd and with James. I got married and moved to Ohio. I joined the Guard in Ohio and did some research on my friends of the 263rd. I found out they were deployed to the Afghan. It was not until recently I found out about our loss of James. To the family of SSG James Bullard, Be proud of James and know that I never met you, but you are a part of my family. James was a big brother to me and he had made a positive impact on my life. I still to this moment think of James everyday. I love you, brother.

My name is Petty Officer 2nd class Claude Rivet. I was with NAVY ETT (Embeded traing team)I had only been in country for 65 days working at FOB LINDSY that Ssgt Bullard was at. The Guard unit there made me feel right at home always joking around goofing off. I guess what I am trying to say is that day is etched in my mind and the tears still run down my face good bye to a great guy

Hello Amber,
I am SGT Crosby I spoke with you the other day at the Armory in Dillon. I was one of SSG Bullard's team leader. I went through a lot with SSG Bullard and ending get split up from him in Afghanistan. Little did I know that was the last time I would see him. I think about him and his family everyday. SSG Bullard was smart, funny and goofy all at the same time. I think that is what made him SSG Bullard. I loved him and really hate that I never got to see him before his departure. God Bless and I can say this one thing. I am looking forward to catching up with him in Heaven. May my family prayers be for your family. I also am looking forward to the day his boy grows up big and strong.

To the family and parents of James I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

I met SSG Bullard one time at a FOB in Afghanistan. It was more of an introduction and small talk as both of our teams were gearing up for our missions for the day. I worked in the same areas of Sperwan Ghar, Zhari, Panjwai and Kandahar as did SSG Bullard. He was a great man and highly respected and loved by his peers on his team.

Amber,

I am so sorry about the loss you of Bullard, my husband was with Bullard at Ft. Gordon back a few years ago, and aslo in AFghganistan. I know this is a bit delayed but I had surgery a few days before, then other family issues. I wanted to let you and your family know that he will always be remembered in our thoughts, and your family in our prayers. David called me that night and I knew something terrrible had ahppened but of course he couldn't say anything and shortly after that a friend called me crying becasue she thought it was my David. David called me back and we just sat crying ont he phone. I am greatful that my David was able to know Bullard the years that he did, becasue he spoke highly of Bullard. He was so happy when your son was born David called to tell me that.
May Heavenly Fahter continue to bless you and your son always for the sacrifice you made. We will always love you and your family.

To the family of an American Hero, I am grateful. I lost my nephew Spc T Caughman in June 2004 and know the great price that is being paid by our loved ones for our freedom. May we never forget that our freedom comes with a great price of others and I hope and pray we never forget that it is not free. Greater love love hath no man than he lay down his life for his friend. God give you the strength you need each day

To all the family of James David Bullard,

I am SSG Watson and currently deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. I am Amber's older brother. I just want to say that Amber and the rest of the entire family is in my prayers and put on every prayer list I come across. I personally never had the priviledge of meeting James face to face but judging by what Amber, the family, and the rest of his friends say, I surely missed out on a great individual to meet. Again, you are in my prayers and I will be home soon Amber. Take care and God Bless!!

SSG James Bullard will be sadly missed. We most honor the fallen by celebrating their lives. SSG Bullard was a friend of mine who I lost contact with. I was his battle buddy in basic training at Ft. Knox, KY. We were there from July to Nov. 1997. After graduation he went to Korea and I went to Fort Hood, TX. I was very sad to read about his death, but he died doing what heroes do, defending freedom and fighting for his loved ones. I have had many friends killed and injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, but SSG Bullard was my first friend I made in the Army. My prayers go out to his family and friends. He will be missed, but NEVER FORGOTTEN! REMEMBER ALL OF OUR FALLEN HEROES!

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Karen,Words cannot express the sadness and sorrow I feel for you and your family at the lost of your son David.Coming from a military family I can tell you that what David did was heroic. It take a special person to lay there life on the line for the freedom we are priviliged to have. You and I grew up together and when my Father was stationed in different places and I would visit Marion and my grandparents it was a joy to see you and meet Jeff and David.I havent seen you in a long time and when I heard about David I was taken back to him being a baby at a easter egg hunt. That is the way I picture him.Beautiful and so full of life.My pray and wish for you is that one day you can picture him that way and smile and not feel so much pain,I will continue to pray for all of you and know that you son was a very special man.The stories you will be able to tell his son will be a blessing to him and to all of you.God bless all of you at your time of sorrow.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. My thanks to your son, father and husband, brother and best friend for his sacrifice for our freedoms. I know that this young man's friends and comrades gave their prayers and had their own ceremony to his memory and his loss on November 6th, 2007 in -county (Afghanistan). It is my understanding that he was a good person and a hard worker and well liked by his fellow soldiers in arms. God Bless you and may God wrap you in his arms and give you peace and comfort knowing that his loss is felt by many. May your happy memories sustain you in your hours of despair.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray that God will wrap His arms around you and comfort you. I met David during the birth of his son. It was a privilege to take care of him and his wife as they welcomed their son into the world. I remember David was so tired from the flight but we woke him up to help his wife push. I was privileged to serve a soldier and his family. I'm honored to have met him.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I would also like to tell you about a website, http://groups.msn.com/SSPSoldierPor

where some wonderful people will make wood portraits of your fallen Hero for free for the immediate family. I became aware of this site when I wanted to do something special for Le Ron’s mother.

I am absolutely devastated and I know that you are too...but find comfort in the fact that we will see our loved ones, our heroes again. Do I wish that I could trade places with my son? ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. To Amber there are no words that anybody can say to you to make the pain feel at ease but from someone who has experienced this and is still dealing with a loss of a husband it is a day by day process some will be good and some will be bad but take them one ata time and just remember the good times that God bleesed you to share with each other and the gift he gave as a bond to the both of you "Hayden" he is gone in flesh but believe he is not gone in love and spirit. He was a dear friend to me and you are too if you need someone to talk to please feel free to contact me. God bles you all.

Dear God, I have never thanked you for my thorns, I have thanked you a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear. Teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to you along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of your rainbow look much more brilliant. You have given the ultimate sacrifice, all of you, along with David. I pray each day for you.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to the Bullard family. David and I were classmates at MHS, and this is a loss of our family as well. May the peace and serenity of God, be a comfort to you at this time, He is a magnificant God, He will be ears when no one hears, He will be the shoulder when all others fail, He will be your rock. Have assurance that David is in the bosom of Christ, where he will be until that great morning when we all will be reunited again.

David,
Good job, welcome home, I love you Bro! Hopefully I'll see you one day and we can finally catch up like you had wanted, until then you'll be greatly missed. It would have been an honor to serve with you, I know you would have always been there. You were a great man and an even better friend! I promise I'll finish what you and so many other brave men and women have started.

Amber, Hayden, and family,
Thank you for your sacrifice for our freedom and safety! David will not be forgotten, nor will you. You, like David, are all heroes to me. You are always in my heart and prayers! GOD bless.

May God be with you in your time of sorrow. One day the clouds will be rolled back, the trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ shall rise. On that day you will see David again. That will be the day when you'll never depart from your loved ones anymore. May God bless you all.

I just wanted the family to know that I have been praying for you all, and I'm sorry that you had to go through this. My name is De'Angela Haynes and I graduated with David from MHS in 1997. I attended JROTC four years with him and was his battalion commander. We were on the drill team together and we went to all of the JROTC summer camps together. We also joined the National Guard the same year and went to Basic training.
