Our condolences to Carol and family. I will always remember Coach Burkett and him being the great coach that he was. He knew when to let the players self-adjust and when he needed to give them guidance. Best to all. Charlie and Barbara Suehs

To All of Mr.Burket's family and friends:
You have my sincere condolences upon the death of such a fine man who will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. May the peace that passes all understanding give you solace in the knowledge he is in his heavenly home and no longer in pain.
......I was a student at Pleasanton High School while Mr. Burket taught there, but did not have the pleasure of being in one of his classes.
.....Many of my friends did, however, and have expressed many kind thoughts and memories about him that I would like to share with his family.
.....On Face Book I administer a group of PHS Ex Students who wanted to be sure his loved ones knew how much of an impmression he made on so many lives, and has been remembered fondly, not only as a coach but as an instructor in subjects of several math and business courses.
.....Our group on FB is aptly named for the Elementary School that most of us attended, which was still standing on Main Street during his tenure at PHS, before being demolished a few years later.
.....On Face Book you can look for these comments about Mr.Burket in our group
"I Attended School in the Two Story Building in Pleasanton Texas". Only members of the group can comment but everyone is welcome to visit and read the postings and comments. This is a link to it https://www.facebook.com/groups/10150116950765484/
.....If it doesn't work, just put the group's name into FB's search box.
.....My personal profile is Dotty Gibson Meredith (PHS '66) and my postings are public so if you would like to comment on my time line feel free to do so or request membership in our group.

I worked with Jim for quite a few years at Boone and bonded when we discovered that Dana worked at SWRI with my dad. Jim was a funny man and loved those kids. I had no idea of all the experiences he had already had previous to coming to Boone. My prayers and sincere condolences to all of the family.
