It was with a heartfelt sadness that I heard of the sudden passing of my good friend Jim Cagney. My chats with Jim always turned to the great songs from County Cork, and the Great sporting traditions of our county Whether it be Christy Ring or The Bells of Shandon. God be good to you Jim I will miss you dearly.

"My dearest Bridget, we are sincerely sorry for your loss, we know that Jim was the love of your life. Tommy and Myself and our children Anthony and Lisa were honored to know you both even "tho it was to short", and to have spent so many great times with you, from The NY Co. Cork Association's meetings to seeing you be Elf's at Christmas time for the children, to driving you to and from many Irish events, with others, with such great sing songs and stories about Cork and Ireland, there and back we thank you. We loved having you visit our home for many dinners and BBQs. Jim will never be forgotten, we will be honoring Jim at the Cork Association Hall in the near future. We are thinking and praying for you, and all your family at this very sad time. Jim Cagney May you Rest In Peace, Ar dheis De go raibh a anam." Past President: NY Co Cork Association Treasa Goodwin- Smyth and Family."

On behalf of the Officers and members of the County Cork B.P&P. Association of NY we extended heartfelt condolences to longtime member Bridget (nee Osborne) Cagney of the passing of her beloved husband James "Jim" Cagney. The Cagney's were the official ambassadors of our Association and represented us and Cork extremely well. Friends to all and enemies to none we were a better organization because of them and their contributions.
May Jim rest in peace & may God bless Bridget.
