We were aware of Jim's medical challenges through mutual friends. I recall fondly of Jim and meeting Debbie while Jim was at Emma Lake. Also playing hockey against Jim in the provincial Intermediate C playoffs when he played for the Raymore Rockets, while he was stationed in Punnichy and I played for the Leask Flyers and I was stationed at Blaine Lake. He was always the consummate gentleman and friendly giant. Rest in Peace my friend. Our most sincere condolences to you Debbie and family(iles).

I always had my own personal connection to Jim. we both shared the same birthdate.we both also loved frenchs mustard sandwiches. I remember when I was working in Nelson, I went to a dance with a girlfriend, there was this guy hanging around,,, jim had a feeling about him so he came to me and asked to drive me home.. he did have that sense of helping others, i agree. rest in peace cousin.
