James (Jimmy) Casper, son of Elias and Evelyn Casper of Bowie, Maryland, passed away on September 10, 2015. Jimmy was born in Utica, NY, on May 20, 1960. Jimmy was raised in Bowie, Maryland, and was a graduate of Bowie High School. He was a talented hairdresser and former proprietor of Jimmi James Hair Salon. Jimmy developed fond relationships and made many customers happy through his craft. In his early life, Jimmy had many talents and was a gifted musician. He loved many genres of music. Jimmy is survived by his parents; his siblings and their spouses, Laura Adkins, Doreen and Don Hopper, Robert and Penny Casper, and Steven and Nicole Casper; his nieces and nephews and their spouses, Marcus and Jenny Alphin, Brett and Yunmi Alphin, Lindsay, Michael and Erica Hopper, and Grace, Tess and Jack Casper; and many wonderful uncles, aunts and cousins in Utica and New Hartford, NY. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Cary Adkins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. I have know Jimmy since I was a little girl. He was always a good person. We laughed a lot and shared conversations on the trial and tribulations of life. It was always a treat when I would have him cut my hair - he was excellent. My condolences to the family and may you be at peace Jimmy.

Dear Evelyn and Eli, I remember seeing Jimmy as a young boy at the swimming pool and having great conversations with his Dad. Later he was cutting my hair, then having great conversations at bus stops. The last time was in July. Rest in Peace, Jimmy

Very sad to hear this news about James. My Mom and I were clients of James probably 30 years ago in Bowie. We followed James where ever he went , shop to shop , it didn't matter. Sending prayers to his family at this difficult time
