JAMES ELMER COOPER James Elmer Cooper, 90, of Tuskegee, went to be with the Lord March 15, 2010. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 18, at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Ronald Sumner will officiate and burial will follow in the Murphy-Cooper Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, at Corbitt's Funeral Home in Tuskegee from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Mr. Cooper served his country during World War II and as the Director of Veterans Affairs for Macon County for many years. After his retirement, Mr. Cooper devoted himself to his family and maintaining the family business of Floral Park Motel. He is survived by his son Bobby (Vivian) Cooper of Tuskegee, his granddaughter Christi (Chuck) Stallions of Opelika, his great-grandchildren Charlie and Lily Stallions, his sisters Lillian Overton of Opelika and Jerry (Tommy) Jackson of Tuskegee and his uncle Andrew (Mary Agnes) Cooper of Gulf Shores.
