Jimmy, as he was nicknamed, was the dear friend and buddy to my youngest brother, Rick. They met at the college of Steubenville in the 70s. Jimmy was a unique individual in that he suffered from a disease in his childhood, which nearly killed him. I believe he was stricken with meningitis and was hospitalized for nearly a year. You would never know it because he exuded joy and went through his life with great enthusiasm. He inspired many to live life to the fullest. We miss him and always will.

I worked with Jimmy's mother Winnie and remember him as a young boy. My deepest sympathy to all of his family

I grew up on Kerry Hill Drive and remember Jimmy as just one of the most caring people even as a boy. I remember in first grade (he was a year or two ahead of me)...I was sent home sick and he came to our house to tell my mom that he thought I might have missed the bus....so sweet even as a boy.

Mary Ann,

I may have been out of touch with Jimmy and the Pittsburgh family for a number of years but I'll always remember him as a special cousin who gave so much love and affection to all who knew him. He'll be sadly missed. My deepest condolences.

Jimmy, my friend, I can think of no better words than these, said many years ago at the passing of a Hollywood legend: "He loved life. Life meant family, his friends, his work. He could not imagine leaving any of them. Himself, he never took too seriously. Those who did not know him well, who never worked with him, were not of the small circle of his close friends ; had another completely different idea of the man than the few who were so privileged. I suppose the ones who knew him but slightly were at the greatest disadvantage, and particularly if they were the least bit solemn about their own importance. His own house was a sanctuary. Within those walls anyone, no matter how elevated his position, could breathe easy. Jim's hospitality went far beyond food and drink. He fed a guest's spirit as well as his body, plied him with good will until he became drunk in the heart as well as in the legs. Mary Ann attended to his every single want, most often before he, himself, knew what his want was. She never missed a trick. From the day of her marriage to him till the hour that death parted them she was true - truly true. It can only be put down to class - class and love. His life, though not a long one measured in years, was a rich, deep life. He got all that he asked for out of life and more. We have no reason to feel any sorrow for him - only for ourselves for having lost him. He is quite irreplaceable. There will never be another one like him." Adios and Vaya Con Dios . Stumpy

Mary Ann,
We were so shocked to hear that Jimmy passed away. Sal had seen both you and Jimmy just a short time ago. Sal has many fond memories of Jimmy when they lived on Kerry Hill in Castle Shannon. One of my favorites was from the Fisher Scientific Kennywood picnic and Jimmy and Sal got me on the pirate ship and the laser loop. I was ready to let both of them have it!! The two of them with their Three Stooges, what a hoot!! We are so sorry for your loss and you have our sincere sympathy. My God bless and keep you and give you comfort during this time. Sleep with the Angels, Jimmy.
