James Dickinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 9, 2024.
In the quiet hush of Pleasanton, as winter's breath still lingers, we bid farewell to a man whose essence was woven into the tapestry of our lives with the vibrancy of a thousand hues. James Anthony Dickinson-known to those who held him dear as Jim-embarked on his final flight from this earthly realm on December 29, 2023. Born under the golden California sun in Livermore on September 18, 1946, Jim's life was a canvas of adventure, warmth, and the unspoken poetry of everyday moments.

Jim danced through life much like the leaves that pirouette in the autumn wind. As a father, brother, and son, his spirit was a beacon of comfort, his laughter a symphony that resonated in the hearts of all who knew him. In his 77 years, Jim painted his world with the colors of joy, from the serene glide of a hang glider above the earth's embrace to the gentle ripple of a kayak upon tranquil waters. His hands, artisans of wonder, crafted train sets and piloted remote control airplanes, each a testament to his childlike wonder and ceaseless curiosity.

He was a maestro of mirth, a player of video games, a builder of bonds that would stand the test of time and memory. Jim's friendships were not mere connections; they were soulful sonnets, each unique, each cherished deeply.

The legacy of his professional life as the visionary behind JDEnergy consulting, and as a collaborator with A&E design, is etched in the annals of industry and innovation. His professional odyssey was marked by the same passion and dedication that he brought to every pursuit.

In the tapestry of Jim's life, threads of love and loss intertwine. He is survived by a constellation of hearts that beat in rhythm with the memories of his tenderness: daughters Jennifer and Amber, along with son-in-law Jason; grandsons Alec and Theo, who will carry forward his light; brothers Harvey, Robert, David, and Phillip, with sister-in-law Sally; sisters Margaret and Patricia; and a chorus of nieces and nephews. He now joins the celestial embrace of his late mother, Nancy Yolanda Emery, and father, Harvey Dickinson.

The gathering to honor Jim's symphony of a life will unfurl at St. Augustine on February 23, 2024, at the hour of 10:30 am, where friends and family will convene at 3999 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA, 94566.

In lieu of ephemeral blossoms, contributions of plants, trees, and potted flowers are invited to root Jim's memory in the living earth-a memorial garden that will flourish with life, as he did.

Let us remember Jim, not with the silence of sorrow, but with the celebration of his indelible mark upon the world-a verse in the great poem of existence, a note in the grand melody of the universe.
