James Dill Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 3, 2025.
James Edward Dill Jr. (August 22, 1977 - January 23, 2025)

James Edward Dill Jr.,also known as Jimmy was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and dedicated friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, at the age of 47. Known for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and love for his family, Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Robyn Dill, his daughter Payson, his parents, James and Joette Dill, and his brothers; Brandon and Patrick and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmy was a devoted father to Payson (13) and stepfather to Wyatt (29) and Kaytlyn (28), instilling in them a sense of loyalty, kindness, and a love for life. His grandchildren, Dante(6) and Greyson (4) brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying a good laugh, Jimmy was a pillar of support for his family. During his time at Florida State University, Jimmy developed a deep love for the Florida State University (FSU) Seminoles. As a lifelong fan of FSU, he proudly wore garnet and gold, attending countless games, and supporting the Seminoles through every season. His passion for FSU sports was contagious, and he could often be found watching games with friends and family, cheering on his team with unmatched enthusiasm. In addition to his love for sports, Jimmy had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life; spending time with family and bowling in multiple leagues. A celebration of life will be held on February 21, 2025, 1:00pm at Rocky Mountain Calvary, 4285 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 where friends and family will gather to honor and remember Jimmy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the account created for Payson's College Education fund. Jimmy's legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Go Noles!

This truly breaks my heart that he's gone. I prayed for a miracle everyday. Jimmy was so kind and funny and lived life to the absolute fullest, truly lived life. He was a son to fabulous parents, a brother to his wonderful brothers, a father to his precious daughter who he adored and cherished, a father to his stepchildren who he loved so dearly, and a husband to his wife, his best friend, his true love. We are so heartbroken over Jimmy's passing, he just had so much more to do. He fought so hard. He will never be forgotten. The only thing that brings us peace is he is no longer suffering. He will always be in our hearts. We are praying for his entire family, this is a great loss for all of them. Sending love, prayers and hugs.

I absolutely loved bowling with Jimmy and the Dills! They always treated me like a member of the family, with no judgement. They we all amazing bowlers and I was (at best) mediocre. Some of my best memories were league nights bowling with them. Jim and Joette, I am sending love. Robyn and children, even though we never met, I send love and healing.
