Dear Susan, I recently learned of the death of Jim on the website as I was looking up a similar name to his on the Website. This is Darlene (Allen), who worked for Jim for a short while at Stone Container Corporation. I hope you remember me. I was very fond of the two of you, and working for Jim and then, George Hills, as their secretary was one of my favorite jobs during my career.

My deepest sympathy, though so late, I just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts.

God bless you and your family.

My fondest memories of Jim Doughan are the fun times I had with him, Marge, Beth, Joe and Jim at thier house in Franklin Lakes. That was a great house for teenage girl sleepovers (which Beth had a lot of) and high school get togethers. Jim and Marge loved entertaining adults and kids alike. From their infmaous New Year's Day brunches to the Pre-Senior prom cocktail party - the list just goes on and on. I hope Beth, Joe and Jim will look back on those days and find some solce in the memories they will carry with them forever. Rest in Peace - Jim.

Dear Doughan Family,
We were saddened to learn of Jim's sudden death.Our prayers are said and tears shed in deep sympathy for our collective loss and especially for each of you.

We pray and trust that Jim is now "in a better place" and is at peace. Let us grieve the loss we feel and celebrate the life he lived. Many memories flood into our minds and bring smiles to our faces. To mention a few as they come to mind:
--the wonderful visit we had with Jim and Susan in AZ at their Boulders home;
--Jim's dislike of driving Colorado's "oh my God" roads;
--the dedication of the Doughans to Yale football especially Uncle Joe, Jim's Dad;
--Jim's dedication and support for his Mom, Dave's Aunt Alice;
-- all the fun times we had - tail-gating, Cape Cod week-ends,Jim's sense of humor, the jokes, the laughter, and his wonderfully warm, engaging smile;
--our kids and his getting together and the memories they share.

Thank God that Jim was part of our lives. May you all be blessed with comfort and peace at this time of loss and sadness.We send our love.

I was a 1957 Yale grad and member of the football team-played first team from 1954-1956.I remember Jim very well and respected his presence and abilities on the gridiron.I wish I had known that he was here in AZ-I would have made an effort to get together with him and his family to reminisce our Yale experience.
You have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Doughan family,
My deepest condolences to all the Doughan family. I am so sad to hear of Jim's passing. Many fond memories rush in surrounding the 'uncle' I knew as 'Cousin Jimmy', mostly in time spent with my second-cousins Joey, Jimmy and Beth; and a lot of them directly related to Yale football games, since my dad is also an Eli alum. Decked out in navy blue with white hankies in our pockets, we all hopped aboard their Winnebago for jaunts to Yale Bowl or to NJ for Yale vs. Princeton matches and raucous pre-game tailgate parties. Win or lose, the games always incited some sort of after-party as well, either to hail the heroes or ease the grief; and fostered all sorts of mischief on us kids' part, especially staying down at their home in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
Our prayers go out to all of the family members during this difficult time. Boolah-boolah! And God bless you all.
