James Dunn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 28, 2025.
James Dunn, born September 23,1937 in Wyandotte, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2025, in the Sunshine State of Florida.

Jim is survived by his wife Barbara (Kiwak), daughter Kellie Keathley (Harry), son James Dunn (Caroline) and daughter Elizabeth Smith (James), all living in Florida with their spouses; his sister Patricia Schultz (Kenneth) and many nieces and nephews. Jim loved his 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father, Osborne (Pat) Dunn, mother, Norma Dunn and his brother, Terrence and sister-in-law Sandra Dunn.

At the time of his birth, Edna Lucas, was his Nanny, who nurtured and loved him dearly for years. Jim felt the same about her and they had a close bond. Jim grew up in Allen Park, Michigan. He attended Allen Park High School where he was the Coxswain on the rowing team and also played basketball, which was his favorite sport. Jim met Barbara during his sophomore year and they became a "couple". After high school he served two years in the Army as a paratrooper. He returned home and married Barb on January 23, 1960.

Throughout his life's variable careers, Jim most enjoyed his strengths and talents in Sales. Jim and Barbara relocated to Florida in 1981 and spent 64 wonderful years together with their family. They were best friends; he was her rock; the perfect husband and father and they created so many wonderful memories.

Jim was a "gentle soul" and will be missed by all who loved him...
