James Henry Dwyer

I have been asked to write more memories I have of Henry and one thing stands out in my mind, and that is the way he liked to stand in front of the class in seventh grade and tell about movies he had seen. He wasn't shy about talking to the group as so many kids of that age (including me) were inclined to be. I also remember the cow on the hillside between the Dwyer house and the school that would chase Henry and the teachers who boarded there when they came down the hill. Henry was the only one who wasn't afraid of it. This has all been so long ago that it is hard to recall much. I just thought perhaps his grandchildren might enjoy it.

Uncle Henry guided my life and was pediatrian until I was about 14 or 15 years old. A quiet man, he always listened to me when I had ailments and along with my visits he was a loving uncle. I could always confide in him and he would chuckle when I would tell him about my escapades. He was also my champion for me in family situations. In 2004 I drove out to Virgina. I stopped to say hello and lo and lo and behold he had assembled my Dwyer/Cox cousins for dinner and reunion Needless to say I was overwhelmed with joy. He was an incredible man, my Uncle Henry. He will always be in my heart and in my memories. I loved him.

I was so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. We were in the same class from first grade through high school and even before that I remember going to his and Rose Marie's birthday parties when we were pre-school kids. I have very fond memories of all of the Dwyer family in Lorton and, although I didn't have the privilege to know his children, my condolences go out to them. I think Rose Marie would remember me.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is always so very hard to lose a loved one in death and our loving Heavenly Father is very aware and understand your painful loss. He will listen to your prayer and pay attention to your pleas for help because he is near to all those calling on him. In the days of your distress, he will answer you. Find comfort that your loved one will live again. (Psalms 86:6-7) Your family and friends have my deepest condolences.
