I didn't meet Mr. Eadie until he was at St. Jacques - but my mom's family lived near him when she was young. When we would play at the nursing home, he was always so cheerful, even just a few days before he died he was looking forward to getting the bandage off his ear so he could hear properly again. He had great faith and loved little ones. I remember the day I brought my son in to meet him (St. Patrick's Day) Colin was wearing a bright green top hat that Mr. Eadie took from him and placed on top of his own head!! He always had a kind word of encouragement for me - I can hardly wait to meet up with him again!

Dear Anne and family,
We were saddened to hear about your dad's passing but aren't you lucky to have had him for so long. He was a wonderful man I want to remind you of one incidence that your dad had at our place. Every morning he would pick up Bill and take him to work. I think he always came a bit early to have a bit of time with Kelly because he loved kids.As many times as he came , it didn't seem to bother our dog but one morning your dad picked up Kelly and the dog let him know that that little girl was his friend. We have laughed about that often. The dog made a mark but I can't remember that he broke the skin on his leg. Bless you all at this time. It is a time for remembering.

It is with sadness that we hear of the passing of Gord. Our memories of him go back to the 1960's at HMCS Gloucester. He was a truly wonderful man whom we respected and considered a friend

Our thoughts are with you. Ron & I will always remember Gordon for his quick sense of humour and for his wonderful anecdotes, especially the ones about his white Lincoln. He was a great role model as a father, grandfather and great grandfather and for a life well lived.
