James E. "Jim" Ennis Sr.

Great Memories of Mr Ennis as a teacher. I still tell one of his jokes. The Kingfish!

Mr. Ennis, a good friend of my fathers; a neighborhood icon; a favorite teacher; a man who wanted to live to be 100 years old. There is much more to be said about this man who held out his arms to me and my sisters when we first heard that my father had died and who cried right along with us. I knew him my whole life and will not forget him. I have much respect and sympathy for Mrs. Ennis, Jim Jr., Theresa and Tim and the families.

Jim was a classmate of mine. I first met him in junior high. Always friendly and positive. We were both teacher. Another 49er is gone.

No words can ever express the loss of Mr. Ennis. I will ALWAYS remember his big booming voice accompanied by the huge smile he always had on his face. I will also remember the"adventures" with my Dad and the cows! He was such a positive man and always looking for a new adventure! He will always be a part of my head and heart. I well remember Mr. Ennis. Mr. Ennis was my first homeroom teacher the first year that he came to Towanda High to teach. We do send our condolences to his family, and that each one will know God's comfort at this time.
