JAMES WARREN
Age 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 3, 2014, surrounded by his wife and family. James was the second born son of Ernest Fischer and Elinor Mathias on December 12, 1921, in Castle Shannon. He was the beloved husband for 72 years of Christine Kiyfes Fischer, where they resided in Bethel Park throughout their life. James is survived by his two daughters, Jacqueline Fischer Stewart (and late Dr. A. Van Stewart) and Janice Fischer Currie (Keith). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Mark Stewart, Laura Stewart Taylor (Chris), Jeffery Stewart (Lori), Sarah Currie, Julie Currie; and four great-grandchildren, Maddison Stewart, Cameron Taylor, Ethan Stewart, Colin Taylor. He was the brother to the late Allen Fischer; and survived by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pokrajac; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. James graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and was active in sports as well as performing in the All State Orchestra, in which he played Trumpet, Cornet and French Horn. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. During his life, he was employed as a driver salesman for Hartman/Menzie Dairies, a welder for Dravo Corp., and for 37 years an assistant to his wife/owner of Chris's Children Shop in Bethel Park. James was a founding and active member of Bethany Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014, 12:45 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 5303 Madison Ave., Bethel Park, PA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to either Bethany Lutheran Church or Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
