Jim and I were on a winning McGoun Cup debate team in 1962 and from that, and UMSU activities, I knew him to be an outstanding man.

My condolences to the Foran family. I worked with sons Jim and Allan at the River Heights library in Winnipeg and they were fine young men - a real tribute to their parents. My thoughts are with you! karen edstrom ( Plymouth, Minnesota)

We will always remember Jim's bright eyes , warm smile, and extensive knowledge of a wide range of subjects including American sports, politics, and history. The pool in Puerto Vallarta will not be the same without him. Our deepest sympathy to Mae and his family on their loss of such a fine man who brought joy and happiness to all who met him.

We are 2 of Jim's many friends who knew him from the winters he and Mae spent in Puerto Vallarta. We remember him as a kind, compassionate man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was justifiably proud of his commitment to the youth of Puerto Vallarta, and the countless scholarships he sponsored will leave an incredible legacy for decades to come.
We lost a good friend.

I worked on numerous briefs and position papers with Jim during my tenure with the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association. Jim was always gracious, extremely knowledgeable and a treat to work with. While working on a project at his office, Jim invited me to join him and Mae at their home for dinner. It was like visiting family, a very warm and welcoming experience.

I have only the fondest of memories of spending time and talking with Jim. It was always a learning experience for me. I consider it to have been a privilege and honour to have known Jim.

To Mae, Allan, whom I have also worked with, and the entire family, my heartfelt condolences. Jim was a great man.
