James Foxwell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 19, 2025.
James Golden Foxwell, born January 26, 1940, in Eden, Maryland, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Pocomoke, Maryland surrounded by his loving family.

A graduate of Wicomico High School, Class of 1960, James dedicated nearly thirty years of service to the Campbell Soup Company until the plant's closure in 1993. His strong work ethic and steadfast commitment defined his professional life.

James found great joy in the outdoors. He was deeply connected to the land through his love of hunting and farming. As a Charter Member of The Royal Hunt Club, he played a key role in its establishment and remained active for five decades. His passion for motorsports led him to NASCAR and Stock Car Racing, where he contributed as a pit crew member for various stock car drivers at US 13 Speedway in Delmar, Maryland.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Evelyn Foxwell of Fruitland, Maryland; his brother Richard Lee Foxwell; and his beloved wife of 50 years, Phyllis Nuse Foxwell.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Robert Allen Foxwell (Jessica), Steve Foxwell, Valerie Culp (Wayne), and James Foxwell Jr. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Lydia Messinger (Michael), Allen Robert Foxwell, Gabrielle "Gabby" Foxwell, Jessie Truitt, Evan Mumford, Alex Wilson, and Holly Larmore; and great-grandchildren: Matilda, Maddox, and Amelia Messinger; Aaron Jr., Briar, Dalton, and Nora Truitt. He is also survived by his brothers William Foxwell (Julia) and Ralph Foxwell (Brenda); along with a niece and three nephews and their families.

Thanks to the doctors and staff at Hartley Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation, Pocomoke, MD for the care they provided James during his stay.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
