James Franz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 15, 2025.
James Michael "Jim" Franz, age 78, passed away on May 14, 2025, in New Lisbon, Wisconsin. Born on September 5, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Jim lived a life marked by quiet strength, generosity, and a steadfast commitment to helping others.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1975. His time in the military reflected the same values that would define his life-discipline, service, and a deep sense of responsibility to those around him.

Jim retired from his career as a truck driver in 2013.

A gifted craftsman with an innate ability to repair just about anything, Jim found joy and purpose in carpentry and hands-on work.

Jim's kindness and selflessness were evident in all aspects of his life. He was known for being helpful , without hesitation, and strong , without pretense. Those who knew him often turned to him not only for his skills but for his steady presence and unwavering support.

For the past 26 years, Jim shared his life with Maureen, his devoted partner. Together they built a home filled with warmth and love. He was a proud father to his sons, Jim and Chris. His legacy continues through his grandchildren-Tyler, Megan, Dylan, and Colin.

Jim is also remembered by his sisters, Marge and Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Joe Franz, as well as his brother Michael Franz.

Jim's memory lives on in the many lives he touched through his quiet acts of kindness and dedication.
