James B. Goldrick, age 78, a lifelong resident of Quincy's Houghs Neck, died peacefully, Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Boston, to the late Dorothy H. (Croke) and James B. Goldrick. Raised and educated in Quincy, he was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1964. He graduated from Bentley College, Class of 1969, and later received his Master's degree from Suffolk University in 1979.

He worked as an accountant in the healthcare industry for over thirty years. He began his career working for Tufts for over eleven years before moving on to Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare for twenty-two years.

He was a lifelong active member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Houghs Neck and as a young man was an altar server. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and served as the Treasurer and on the Board of Directors at Manet Community Health Center from 1980-1985. In addition, he was on the Board of Directors for the Houghs Neck Community Council for a short time. Jim was active in youth sports, including Quincy Youth Football, Quincy Youth Soccer and with the Most Blessed Sacrament Church Basketball league.

Most of all, Jim was devoted to his family, especially his cherished granddaughters.

Beloved husband for forty-eight years of Michelle L. (Lyons) Goldrick.

Devoted father of James J. Goldrick, Quincy Police Dept. of Quincy and Nicole L. Goldrick of Quincy.

Loving grandfather of Courtney and Brynn Goldrick.

He was an only child, but grew up closely with his dear cousins, Joan, Barbara, Carole, Nancy, and Gail. He is also survived by loving in-laws and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, February 5, from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Parish in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea Street, Quincy, on Thursday, February 6, at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow.
