James Warren Gore, 72, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at his home in Geneva, Florida. Born December 4, 1938, in Columbus, Mississippi, Buddy, as he was known to his family and friends, was the eldest son of the late John Albert and Annie Lois Gore. He attended S.D. Lee High School, Class of 1957. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Columbus. He was a Mason, a member of the V.F.W., and a member of the Sanford Moose Lodge where he was currently serving as Jr. Governor. He was employed at United Cement and Ceco Building Systems in Columbus. After retiring in 2000, he moved to Sanford, and then Geneva, Florida. He enjoyed his retirement years fishing and spending time with friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Rosamond Gore. Jim is survived by his wife, Janice Kadis of Geneva, FL; daughters - Sherry Gore (Dan) Smith of Fletcher, NC and Laura Gore (Bruce) Fisher of Weaverville, NC; grandsons - James Ryan Smith and Matthew Crawford Smith; brothers - John Gore, Gene Gore, and Billy Gore of Columbus, MS; and sisters – Barbara Gore Linde of Lakeview, AK, Betsy Gore Roberson of Auburn, WA, Gwen Gore of Nesbit, MS, and Kaye Gore Burnett of Columbus, MS. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was loved and he will be missed. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Sanford, FL in the near future. Memorials may be made to the Autism Society of North Carolina, 505 Oberlin Rd., Suite 230, Raleigh NC 27605 or Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, 30 Airline Road, Columbus, MS.
