I started working for Art in the loading bay at the boot on April 1,1981. I am sure in the months and few years that followed Art must have looked skyward and asked when that April Fools day joke might ever end!! I gave him every reason in the world to end my career and though I'm sure he was close many times he chose not to. I choose to think that maybe he could see beyond my immaturity and believe that I might one day be a valuable member of BC Tel/ TELUS. I think I have done that over my 35 years with Telus and I owe Art my gratitude and respect. I know that all of us who worked for Art thought the world of him, and knew that he cared for and about those of us he managed. I have often wondered about Art in the 30 years since I last saw him, and was saddened to see his obituary but also happy to see that he had enjoyed a long and happy life. I enjoyed his service yesterday and thought it was a touching tribute to the life of a good man.
