James Perry Grainger

James P. Grainger "Jim" passed away peacefully at home in Santa Paula on Monday July 4th 2022. Jim was born in Santa Paula Ca., on Feb. 6 1950. He attended Cal. State Northridge University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Ancient History in 1972.

In his youth Jim was actively involved with the El Buen United Methodist Church Boy Scout Troop 307. He was an animal lover and regularly donated to animal societies. Some of his favorite past times were camping, fishing and water skiing. He was an avid reader and writer. He enjoyed history and the research of genealogy. He also looked forward to playing cards and getting together with all of his friends every Tuesday for their weekly poker games.

He is survived by his loving sister Judith, nieces Kathleen and Annie, great nieces Jazmine, Brianna, Elyssia, Kiaya and Tea. He is also survived by his uncle Don Grainger and many cousins from the Grainger and Wiley families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Perry Oaks Grainger and mother Dorothy Wiley Grainger.

Jim was a kind soul who has been loved by many, he will be missed dearly and will not be forgotten.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 15th at Pierce Brothers Cemetery in Santa Paula, CA.
