James Gregg Obituary

James Robert Gregg, 77, of Fort Myers, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was born August 6, 1937 in Ardmore, OK and moved to Fort Myers from Port Charlotte in 1975. Early in his career, he worked for Prudential Life Insurance Company before opening Jim Gregg Insurance Agency in 1975. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of Araba Shrine Temple, the Optimist Club and member and past State President of Florida Association of Life Underwriters. He also coached Little League, was a Cub Scout Leader and taught insurance courses.
Mr. Gregg is survived by his wife of 53 years, Estelle C. Gregg; his two sons: James Robert Gregg, Jr., Allison and their daughter, Stella Jean Gregg of St. Petersburg and John Michael Gregg and wife, Sara of Kennesaw, GA; his sister, Linda Doyle and husband, Doug of Scottsdale, AZ; his brother, C.J. "Chuck" Gregg, Jr. and wife, Mary Lou of Henderson, NV. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the funeral home.

We all will certainly miss Jim. Especially when he was MC during the second session of the Araba Ceremonial. His wit and humor will always be remembered. Jim was truly a gentleman, and a devoted Shriner.
