James Lawrence Hackford, formerly of Bel Air, MD, died on Monday, August 1 at his home on Hilton Head Island, SC. He was 73.
Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Donald and Elizabeth Hackford. He is survived by beloved wife Dr. Wendy Kloesz of Hilton Head Island, SC., daughters Therese (Eric) Dezell of Bel Air, MD and Sarah (James) Roche of Perry Hall, MD, siblings Donald (Kathleen), Mary, Katherine (William) and grandchildren Eliza, Gavin, Emory, and Owen. He is preceded in death by brothers William and Thomas.
Jim was a proud retired New York City Police Officer. He was also an avid golfer and loved teaching others the sport. He will be remembered as someone who enjoyed warm weather, telling stories, and a cold draft after a round of golf.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
