Dear Ramona and family,
Pastor Jim was such a wonderful man of God. He was so influential in my life as a teen and I believe our good Lord would say. "We'll done my faithful servant."

What an amazing family you are. Ramona, you and Jim were such dear friends to the Svingen family. Your influence continued long after you accepted another call. Jim's memory is rich in happiness. God is with all of you.

As Pastor Avis Anderson describes, I can attest to being one for whom this man was pivotal in life.
Pastor Hanson was an instrumental example in my life -*- and this was reinforced as recently as this past January, as I read his book, "What is the Church?", -- my father's copy, provided to me by my sister at Christmas. Upon completing his book, I intended to locate and thank him by e-mail, yet didn't manage to do so. Although I was young when he served our church, I literally saw him as an extension of God, and was positively touched by his charisma. I remember his wife, his children, and all who have commented above as well. I hope this message also reaches his family members. Thank you all for your presence/presents in my life. What a treasure it was, as a growing child, to be a part of that church/community!

We, who were touched so profoundly by Pator Jim and his family, share in mourning his loss and pray for his family as they mourn with us. We smile at the memory of his influence upon us: the weddings, the baptisms, the funerals, the counseling, freely given with the love of Christ so palpable.May God rest his soul.

Neil and I (Cammy) Oakland both were touched by Rev. Jim's sermons and faith in our lives in many profound ways. He has been in our memories and conversations on & off for all these years even though he has not been our Pastor in decades. God bless to all of his family. Our deepest sympathy, Neil & Cammy Sue (Carlson, Crookston, MN)Oakland. Zion Lutheran church, Glendive, Montana

Pastor Jim's ministry was pivotal to the lives of many here at Zion Lutheran in Glendive MT. He came to us at a time of change and led us with Jesus' love. For those who remember him he has always been missed. Part of a generation nearly gone. God rest his soul and bless his memory among us.
