Jim was one of the very best friends a guy could ever have. “Heb” and I went to Grade school together at St. John’s in Erie, and graduated in 1972. I have many fond memories of Jim, and he will be in my heart forever. From playing hoops together, hanging out in Marvintown, and talking about World problems over pitchers of beers at Herman’s Cafe.
My friend Jim would always be there, no matter what, for his friends and family, to offer help, advise, and support. He was a true, and remarkably kind Man. We had a tight little group of guys from school, and the neighborhood, and shared our youth together, and remained great friends right up to Adulthood. RIP Heb, and as Dylan would say, “May you stay, Forever young” Godspeed Jimmy !

In 2017 Jim came to South Texas to visit his sister Patty. From eating out, to visiting local museums, parks, wildlife refugees and even standing on the bank of the Rio Grande peering into Mexico just a few yards away----we made the rounds! He and Joseph played some basketball everyday and even went for a ride in a big semi-tractor. I learned about his interests in fishing, classic cars and that he was a big musical fan of Bruce Springsteen. He was a devoted Husband,Father,Son,and Brother...I am glad that we had that time together. I am glad he was my brother-n-law.

So very sorry to hear about Jim. Although it has been many years since we've spent any time together; the fond memories in grade school high school and after, the great adventures and truly millions of laughs we shared while growing up will always be with me.
My deepest sympathy to brother Tom, and to all of his family.
Heb was quite a guy, and is gone way too soon.

Tom, Karen, and Joe,
I am very sadden to hear the news of my close friend Jim, and wish to express my condolences to your great Family. Jim and I went to School together at St. John's, and Prep. Our little, but close group would often go to Herman's cafe on Saturday nights, order up a couple of pictures of beer, and discuss World issues. We played many sandlot pick up Basketball games together, and grew up in the same neighborhood. Jim was not only a great guy, but a really wonderful and close friend. I will miss him dearly. He loved Clint Eastwood movies, and would often put on his cowboy boots after watching a Clint movie ! We would ask him to do his Clint impersonation, and he would have us in stitches ! We all loved Heb Godspeed my friend, and crash those boards like a cat in Heaven, as you would do, so formidably, here on Earth. I'll miss you......
